During our Easter get-together, my sister, a nurse, told us that Dakota looked like she had hemorrhoids. We hadn’t noticed it until she pointed it out, but looking at Dakota, she was swollen quite a bit. Yesterday we took her into the vet and he found a thorn stuck in her. Apparently when she squatted to pee, it was over a sticker and she got a thorn stuck in her as a result. The thorn caused an abscess which he drained and along with her boosters, gave her an antibiotic; one day later and swelling is gone.
Next week, we are taking all three dogs in to be spayed. We had Penny spayed when she was a puppy but the others need it. The vet also informed us that especially in Dakota’s case, it will probably end her false pregnancies. The frequency in which she goes into false pregnancies is not good and can lead to other problems.
