Sophie, Elvis and Dakota 6-7-9
On Sunday, I decided to see if Elvis was ready to graduate from his wing-on-a-string training and train with Sophie and Dakota. He’s still not quite ready. He did find the bumper and wing okay, but then he’d grab it and take off so I’d either have to chase him down or send Sophie after him to get the wing and bumper.
He was also intimidated by the high level of energy that Sophie and Dakota have when training, so I let him run around and explore while I trained with Sophie and Dakota. The truth is, I need to spend more time consistently with Sophie and Dakota, but since I can’t, it means that more of their time is spent with refresher training.
Tonight, I trained Elvis with a wing-on-a-string, and he did very well. I took him back inside when I ran out of rewards, and then worked with Sophie and Dakota on their breaking and honoring each other’s retrieves. They’re doing better, but it will be a long process given the amount of time I work with them.
