Impromptu training 12-26-11

Mia on point, 12-26-11

While helping put up our Christmas decorations I watched a Pheasant land in our pasture, so priorities took over and off I went with Mia. The bird had run up and over the ditch, but after a few minutes of searching, Mia caught its scent and went on point. It had run from where Mia went on point so I sent her after it with the command, “track”.

She tracked it along the ditch under our neighbor’s wheel line before it ran out into the field and flushed. Mia wasn’t steady to flush, but did a great job of pointing and tracking.
