Although this past week has meant down time in terms of hunting and training, on a fitness level we’ve ramped it up big time. Monday we began the Shakeology fitness program, which incorporates an intense 25-minute daily workout with a fitness shake; the shake replaces one of our meals so it’s not a diet, and we add our own fruit and flavorings so we can make it just about any way we want. Although we’re in better shape than many, if not most people our age, there’s things we want to do that will require a little better shape than we’re in right now.
We’ve also increased the intensity of the Spins’ workouts on the treadmill by keeping their workout to 15 minutes but putting them on more intense workouts. Elvis, who is definitely not a morning person, has to be almost literally be dragged out of bed for his breakfast, then he’s immediately back to bed. Doc in his enthusiasm to work out, climbed on the treadmill and pushed Sophie off when it was her turn.
Today was therapy day and it was Sophie’s turn. She acts like a 6-month old pup the way she bounces and hops and grunts when we go visiting. Before our visits we stopped at CAL Ranch and she accompanied me into the store – big hit with the employees – while I bought my duck stamp and Wildlife Management Area (WMA) permit.
