Hope you’re well. Looks like I’ve got a sponsor lined up for my first annual Field & Stream wingshooting road trip this fall.
I’m looking for suggestions on hunting locations and sure could use your readers’ input. Criteria: Upland bird only; west of the Mississippi; public and private land suggestions both welcome.
If this is a chance to connect with others along the way, all the better. More details at http://www.scottlindenoutdoors.com.
Thanks,
Scott

Howdy!
Grouse opener Monday and I’ve got a great spot lined up … hunted it last year with a great breeder/trainer who’s been very helpful.
Speaking of helpful, I’ve finally finished version 1.0 of the “Ultimate Upland Gear Checklist.” Lots of folks have helped with ideas, and it’s pretty darn complete at about 150 items.
If you want to make everyone aware of it’s availability (free, of course) and the chance to add for version 1.1, send them to my site: http://www.scottlindenoutdoors.com.
Thanks,
Scott

While not directly hunting – and most certainly bird hunting – dogs, I’m blogging about Irish Wolfhounds and lure-coursing. I came along your blog by chance, but after reading some posts about training and handling the dogs I noticed that there are certainly some similarities and I found out synergies from the methods you describe and what we use. I suppose the ‘cross-linking’ of these blogs could help newcomers to either ‘sport’ to accept a bit wider scale of activities with dogs. The URL for my blog is http://iwcoursing.wordpress.com and I would greatly appreciate any comments on the posts or the blog itself.
Yours

Thanks for the comment, I’ll check out your blog.
I believe that the fundamentals of dog behavior and training apply to all breeds and types of training.
I posted your blog on my blogroll and will take a look at it when I get a chance.

Thanks for your comment and sorry it’s taken so long to reply. We’ve been pretty swamped with things here and I haven’t been checking my email and comments like I should. The more I do this and actually work with other trainers, the more I find out how much more there is to know.

Thanks for taking the time to put together such an informative blog. I know how much work it must take. It is interesting to compare how things differ from one side of the Atlantic to another.
Keep up the good work
Howard

Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it.
I never think that people outside of the U.S. read it and I’m sure that there are big differences in hunting between different countries.
